Congratulations Fire Academy 15! 🎉Earlier this week, 17 graduates celebrated the end of their 38-week academy at a ceremony featuring remarks by North Carolina Department of Public Safety Secretary Eddie M. Buffaloe. This cohort passed their EMT exams at Wake Technical Community College with the highest average scores in the history of our Fire Academy, and are now serving their communities with 6 local fire departments. We are so grateful to these talented and dedicated #firefighters who are now ready to respond to calls throughout #WakeCounty. Thank you! 🚒❤️

On #Juneteenth, we honor, commemorate and acknowledge formerly enslaved people, their stories, the resilience of Black communities and ongoing movement toward racial equity. Thanks to a unanimous and historical vote by the #WakeCounty Board of Commissioners in 2021, #Wake was the first county in #NorthCarolina to declare Juneteenth a holiday for its employees. We are proud to recognize Juneteenth as the important holiday that it is. ➡️ Do you know the story of Juneteenth?
