Top 25 things to do and attractions in Queensbury (2024)

Casual suites, some themed, in a resort with an indoor water park & an arcade, plus restaurants.

Had a great visit here with a family of four (Mom, Dad, 2 Boys, 9 and 5). We had a great time in the water park, and visited the hotel water park in tandem with Great Escape. Location made everything walkable...easy to go to the park and return to the hotel. Breakfast was very filling and had plenty of food each day with a generous time frame (7-1030). We also had dinner at Johnny Rockets right downstairs, which was very convenient. Room was spacious which was great to keep everyone happy.

We stayed at the Lodge and had a triple queen and pull out bed situation to support our 4 kids and us two adults. The rooms were large, had 2 full baths, and a small kitchenette with a microwave and small fridge. Would have loved a small oven, or even a toaster, but overall it suited us well.I really appreciate that the entire indoor water park is thoroughly heated at a balmy 82 degrees. As of late December 2021 masks are required until you go into the swimming area. They had a bevvy of slides, waterfalls, and of course, the lazy river (don't scratch your knees). Overall the water was very clean, although thoroughly laden with chlorine. Give and take. Plenty for kids of all ages to do and explore.Staff definitely were friendly and courteous, overall a great experience and an awesome way to make some family memories in the winter ❄️🎄⛄

I have mixed feelings about this place. Checking in was great, the place is beautiful, our suite was nice and clean. However, the next day for breakfast at The Tavern was not so good. That day for lunch was even worse. The hostess tried to seat us In another restaurant that was not Johnny Rockets. When I complained she said that they had no staff available and we would have to wait. Right after another group came along. A lady named Bonnie seated us and told us that she would be our Server. Except that she didn't and another young lady served us instead. That was just too much hassle just to eat lunch. I felt like only one staff member at the water park was truly nice to us. The staff upon departure was super nice to us. So, mixed feelings. The water park is a bit too small but the children had a lot of fun. The one thing missing is a swimming pool.

The last time I came here was in 2018 and it's probably safe to say things went downhill after that 🤷🏻‍♀️ I stayed the night here with a friend for her son's birthday and I truly wish I would have just stayed home. Besides the water park (that I didn't even utilize) this resort has absolutely nothing going for it. The arcade is pretty eh...small choice of games. Ridiculous price for each of the games as well. The average of 12 credits or more per game to play...that's nonsense. I went to the kid club with my daughter and my friend and her son and the employee working looked at us like we had 5 heads when we walked in. We weren't greeted or even acknowledged. We stood for a minute looking around for something to do and when the employee still decided to ignore us, we left. She seemed like she didn't even want to be there🤷🏻‍♀️ she acted like we were bothering her by just walking in. The resort got rid of a lot of fun things like the treasure hunt that went through the entire resort and was interactive for kids. The restaurants are whatever. Johnny Rockets was about the only good place to eat but they're renovating and you only get to eat a limited menu at the ballroom. Not a great dining experience. I think the nail in the coffin for me was finding actual feces on the wall near the toilet paper holder in our room. Disgusting. That was all the proof I needed to know you clearly don't care about the customer experience. Fresh sheets on the pull out couch? Not likely. Unless you're putting food crumbs in with the clean linens, I'd say housekeeping is cutting some major corners with that as well. Thankfully I didn't spend any of my own money booking this place. Good to know I will never waste my time and money to patronize this establishment ever again.Edit* also no cash sales at the gift shop? Seriously?? Cashless society anyone? I have literally never heard of something so ridiculous in my entire life

We’d been coming to the lodge for quite some time. Over the years it’s had ups and downs. Our last trip we had a bit of a bumpy start. I was talking with someone at the front desk and she mentioned I should talk with the manager. I reluctantly did so as she happened to be walking by at the time. My kids will say plenty of things were the best part but honestly for me it was her. Fully attentive and just had a conversation with me. I was not only informed but happy after that. That’s a keeper in my book. 🎯🙂

We stayed during February Break-We were a little disappointed that Tree House was closed in the waterpark during our stay. (We were offered 30% off our next stay.) If that was open our rating would be 5/5.Water park was nice and warm. Our hotel room was clean and perfect for our family. We really enjoyed the extra activities for the kids at night, during the dinner buffet they had live music, balloons, 3 characters dancing, games and 2 bubble machine going. It was the perfect touch for kids to let lose and have fun while parents got to relax.

This place is always a great time. Kids and adults have a blast. Hotel accommodations are slightly deteriorating. They definitely need to spend some money and fix and update some things on the hotel side. We had a lot of people and like 20 rooms and there was something broken or not working properly in almost all the rooms. We had an extremely slow draining bathroom sink. Another room had a broken pull out couch. 1 door was wonky and was hard to shut along with many other little things. For the price you pay, I feel like there shouldn't be this many issues. I'm not being petty, and were still going to go there for our annual trip. They just need to put some money back into the rooms, is all. Other than that, this place is a great time for the family and friends. The local scenery and business are an added bonus, and I would definitely recommend it to everyone to enjoy this place sometime!

Very accommodating staff! The suite was beautiful and clean. The water lodge was super fun.. Lines were fast moving. All rides were open. The kids corner was reasonably priced. The lobby is beautiful and relaxing atmosphere.

I went with my senior class for our senior trip and we had so much fun together there. We became closer as a class and stronger together. I would go back if it wasn’t so far from where I live. I made so many memories there. The waterpark was so fun and to die for. My favorite of the park was the lazy River. Johnny rockets had great food and amazing milkshakes. I hope that everyone that gets the chance to go to Six Flags Great Escape lodge and indoor waterpark well have as much fun as me and my class did this week.

Waterpark was great. I paid for a renovated room and it was ok. Room size is huge. The only negative is that while eating at an onsite restaurant, a person who was working there was asking everyone else is everything was ok but happened to skip my family and i. Johnny rocket's was great as well. Otherwise, it was a good weekend getaway.

Rooms were nice and clean, plenty of towels, and clean linen. It was uncomfortably warm when we walked in the room, but nothing the AC couldn't fix. Reception was good and quick. I thought the arcade was pretty cool and had some nice retro games. I didn't realize how much those games were nowadays though. The water park was excellent and the kids had a great time despite the lines being a bit long. The worst part about the visit was the bed itself. They seemed a bit dated and we both sank into it. I was glad we were able to buy the Great Escape passes in the hotel instead of only at the park across the street.

My family and I stayed at the Great Escape Lodge last week and had a wonderful time! Being mid-week the water park was far from busy and all of the attractions were clean, open and functioning! Clean room, comfortable beds and a wonderful breakfast! Great Escape Lodge has never let us down, thanks!

Room was horrible. Super unsafe electric outlets, very outdated and old. Stayed on the pullout Ned sofa that was falling apart. You could pull the mattress in half due to the sides falling apart on the mattress. Not safe for a kid. Staff was mixed, some nice, some don't know how to smile. Will not be coming back. Did not feel welcomed. Everything costs money from 50 cent sugar from the over priced coffee bar, to only excepting cards. Almost $8 for a medium coffee. $5 for a bottle soda. Bring your own drinks, it'll save you from this trash.

Overall a great family getaway. Rooms were clean, noisy but its a hotel full of families. Waterpark has 1 big kid play area, 3 slides, a lazy river with not enough tubes, and a body surfing ride. It was great for our 1,6, and 7 year old, but older kids would get bored. There were lots of family activities in the lobby, and all staff were friendly, and accommodating. Grab n go breakfast should be called a snack. Stale prepackaged pastries, 4oz yogurt cups, orange juice, milk, coffee, and old fruit. Sit down breakfast costs extra.

We visited this place on Monday. Overall we had good experience cause our kids liked it. But for us we have identified the following disadvantages:- the section for toddlers began to work only after lunch- the water slides didn't work at the same time- too loud music. After half an hour of stay, I wanted to go to a quiet place- strong smell of chlorine- there was only cold water in the men's shower- and the stupid one hour break was after lunch when you can't use the water park.- little healthy food in the kitchen.

The park is wonderful. The lodging is ok. Old mattresses. Most employees are fabulous, especially in food service. We are having a rough time getting our lost and found item back. But high hopes. Lots of good restaurants nearby.

A great family get away! Indoor activity makes it very convenient as it provides lodging at the same time. There is free unlimited breakfast and free parking too. It can get too crowded though. It is highly recommended.

Disappointed to say the least. Our room was fine. Really big and it was clean. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. The water park is small. The bigger slides for teen and adults were rarely open over our weekend stay. The Tavern didn't have a bartender so the only drink one could get is beer. Went to Johnny Rockets and that was even worse. My family and I won't be back.

BAD: The mattresses are abysmal and will cause back pain, so much so that we now bring our own mattress topper so we can survive the stay. The owner is aware but simply won’t spend the money to replace them. The free breakfast is a cattle call and not great. I would rather pay for something better, but they no longer open the paid option in the mornings. I understand some people like it though, so matter of taste.GOOD: My kids really enjoy the water park and the place is always warm and friendly. It’s a good time with small kids.Basically, just replace the dang mattresses! Get a bulk rate, spend the 150k or whatever, and get on with it.

We brought the kids for a day. Water park is a bit smaller than I envisioned. The kids had fun but as adults the constant loud blaring of music and the weird lifeguard walks were beyond distracting.Who came up with that wacky robot lifeguard patrol with the head nods and swivels??? On a positive note It was nice to be in the warm environment and as adults we just wished it was more relaxing. The place is definitely lacking maintenance with peeling paint on the chairs and tables. The wave rider employees did great with the kids and we saw the water being tested frequently. The food in the waterpark was overpriced and okay minus the awful popcorn. Overall a one and done for us, expected better.

Beds were extremely uncomfortable. I was up most of the night with back pain. The shower made a loud nose. The lamp shade had a hole. I asked for extra pillows to support my back and it took 1.5 days before we got them. The water park was nice. There were some parts of the water park that needed work though. It would also be nice if the lazy river was consistently 3.5 ft deep and didn't drop to 2 ft deep in some parts.

I would like to start of this review by saying the hotel manager was great in trying to make the best of what she was working with. My sister was in town with the kiddos and we decided to stay a night away so the kids could have some fun. After the water park we finally got back to our room to shower. Upon looking around, a envelope with a tip left for the maid was in the room, confirming it had never been cleaned, it was disgusting. There was black mold all over the bathroom. The shower squealed and made some awful noises that made it impossible to stay in the room. For $300+ dollars a night this place was not worth it . My sister went to complain and the front desk quote for quote told us “ We can move you from one dirty room to another dirty room. A manager overheard and finally came over and ended up moving us to one of the “updated” suites which is basically the same rooms with a little fresh paint, it was better than the first room which was absolutely disgusting. We saved proof incase corporate wants to look into this. Also no bedding offered for the pull out couches they offer in each room. Expected our children to sleep on a pullout mattress with no bedding so unsanitary. They did end up finding one single xtra blanket in the entire hotel so they wouldn’t have to sleep on a bare dirty pull out. The “breakfast” they offer was really sad as well. Also the entire first level smelled like awful sewage. Really makes you want Starbucks.

Only a park reviewWe bought day passes for spring break. It was quite busy but tolerable.Pros:Not a huge park, but plenty to keep kids busy for hours.Lots of life guards on dutyFood and lockers on site (food was pricey though)Cons:Not enough tubes for the lazy river. Only %25 of ppl had tubes and were hoarding them. The water was very cold throughout. Kid we were with had to get out several times, freezing with grey lips.

The location is very convenient and beautiful. Rooms could definitely use some updating, and with the prices of additional services on site, you would think they could afford to do some renovations. The staff were very rude and snappy. I did not have many interactions with the staffing, but of the few I spoke with, only one was genuinely happy and accommodating.

My friends and I had an absolute horrible experience here don’t go!!! From the moment we got there the staff was super rude, we later on went to do off premise activities in the town and found that all the cash our party had brought was taken from our room being that the hotel is card only we had no reason to spend any cash. After speaking to someone at 7 pm at night who did nothing to help until we had to called sheriff’s at 9 am the next day and put motion into the severity of it all. They did not take the situation seriously and being that this is family friendly kid atmosphere they were were uncaring how unsafe that is!! I highly recommend you to NOTTTT bring your family or friends here and don’t ask HOLLY the security for a thing she was rude and unhelpful and unfortunately I wouldn’t have left a star at all if I didn’t have to post this review.

We stayed for one night and enjoyed the water park and our room. Great amenities and comfortable stay. The indoor water park was a bit smaller than Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos but we had a great time regardless.

Sam Huntley — Google review

If you room is not ready upon arrival (which it has not been the three times I have come) they let you into the water park but you have to pay to store your luggage. The water park has three slides and at least one is always closed each time I have been. This last trip all three were closed for two hours then only one reopened for the remainder of the day. That left only two attractions, the slide and Flowrider. 30-45 min line for each.Do not plan this park/hotel for more than a night or two as there are few slides/attractions and food on site is extremely limited.Brought the kids to the arcade, which the had fun at. Several of the games were not working. If you are looking for an indoor water park go to Kalahari, Great Wolf or Kartrite. If you are looking to get away for one night and just float in a lazy river the lodge will work.
