Base pay range
$115,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr
The Infant Toddler Center provides on-site daycare in a welcoming setting for the young children of Riverdale's academics and staff. Riverdale grants admittance to children of faculty members from Horace Mann and Fieldston schools, with a specific emphasis on giving priority to Riverdale's Faculty and Staff. The staff offers care for a maximum of fifteen children, who are categorized into two groups according to their ages, which range from 3 to 35 months. The Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with all restrictions outlined in the NYC DOH license regulations and Article 47.
Leadership
Oversee and hire the personnel of the Infant Toddler CenterEnsure the complete execution of all policies and processes to assist all children in attaining their developmental milestones
Manage staff scheduling and approve bi-weekly payroll
Oversee the staff in all facets of child care, including their physical, social/emotional, and cognitive development.
Regularly consult with staff to discuss the children's developmental progress and address any emerging concerns or issues
Supervise daily tasks such as bottle feeding, serving meals and snacks, assisting with toileting and diaper changing, managing nap time, taking children on supervised walks in the neighborhood (in groups), engaging with children individually or in small groups, organizing and leading developmentally appropriate activities, and maintaining daily records
Oversee tuition payments, give prospective families tours of the Infant Toddler Center, and handle annual enrollment contracts for new and returning families
Coordinate work orders and submit them to the maintenance and grounds department. Share photos and updates with The Infant Toddler Center caregivers and families
Professional Growth and Collaboration
Conduct formal and informal observations of each caregiver and provide constructive and actionable feedback on a consistent basis.
Provide ongoing coaching to Infant Toddler Center staff to support them in successfully fulfilling all aspects of their role
Ensure that all caregivers are up to date with their training in Aspire and paper files
Spearhead staff accountability for promoting and ensuring child health and safety across all aspects of the Infant Toddler Center guidelines.
Work in conjunction with the School Nurse to ensure that all children are up to date with medical forms and immunization requirements.
Support the sanitizing efforts throughout the day and after hours if necessary
Stock the Infant Toddler Center with baby wipes & Cheerios, order supplies for projects, and launder seat and cushion covers as needed
Compliance
Implement streamlined record-keeping procedures, encompassing health logs, mandatory DOHMH and DOE documentation, and family communication documents
In charge of handling interactions with the Departments of Health and Education (walkthroughs, meetings, permits, renewals, budgets, etc.)
Work in collaboration with the Director of Human Resources to ensure city and state compliance
Proficient in the policies and procedures outlined in Article 47
Required Qualifications
Baccalaureate degree in early childhood education or related field of study and;
At least one year of experience as a group teacher or on the teaching staff in a child care program for children under 24 months of age, or six college credits in infant/toddler coursework, or a study plan leading to six college credits in infant/toddler coursework
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience with at least 5 direct reports
Intermediate skills in Google Suites and basic math skills
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Ability to pass Comprehensive Background Clearance through the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene- Identogo NYS Central Registry Clearance
Three (3) written references references
Copy of last completed degree with transcriptsFaculty and Staff Health form; physical examination with updated TB test, varicella, tdap, MMR
Obtain Mandated Reporter Training and NYS Harassment Prevention Training Certificate
Food Protection Course for Special Programs
