MORGIEWICZ Goshen Navy Man Reports Soon for Duty With the Pacific Fleet Ensign Daniel J. Morgiewicz, son Mr. and Mrs. Joseph B. Olszewski RD Two, Goshen and 3 nephew of the Rev.

John Felczak of Pine Island. is spending a two weeks leave at his home before reporting at San Francisco for duty with the Pacific Fleet. A 1943 graduate of S. S. Seward Institute in Florida, Ensign Morgiewicz began training for naval aviation in November, 1943, in a 1'-5 training program at Dallas.

Texas, where he remained un11 March. 1944. At that time he was transferred to a V-12 unit for training deck officers at Millsap College in Jackson, Miss. From there he entered an NROTC unit at University of Oklahoma at Norman, where he majored in naval science. On June twentysecond he graduated from tha: course and received his commission.

ERECT TEMPORARY PLAYGROUND FENCE City Workers Tackle Job at Beattie Hill Construction of temporary fencing at the Beattie Hill playground was begun today after months of waiting for permanent fencing material from Cyclone Fencing Company of Newark. Mayor Samuel Mitchell said city employes under Public Works Commissioner Geary W. Chumard were building temporary fence at the rear of playground so that children would not interfere with work on the apartment buildings being constructed on the site of the old Beattie Hill School. The fencing, contract for Chappell Park Bennett Hill Sproat Street playgrounds was also awarded in March.

Material has been unavailable. the Newark company informed city officials, and work has been held up for that reason. Two weeks ago the city prepared to go ahead with the temnorary fence at Beattie Hill but company representative assured Mayo: Mitchell the fencing would arrive this week. When the material did not arrive, Mayor conferred with Mr. Chumard and they decided to act to prevent possible injury to children at the Beattie Hill playground.
